The KIOSC Global Design Challenge is relaunching in May, fostering collaboration in a diverse network of local and international schools. The 2026 program introduces two streams delivered by KIOSC staff, designed to engage students in real-world problem solving and global collaboration. Feedback from previous years has been overwhelmingly positive, with massive impacts to student engagement and learning outcomes.
The first program, Clean Energy Solutions for a Brighter Tomorrow, focuses on sustainability and will connect students across India, Sri Lanka, and Victorian Government schools. Participants will collaborate in designing and developing solutions to pressing global energy challenges, strengthening their STEM capabilities and build intercultural understanding.
A second program will bring together students from Vietnam, Cambodia, and Victoria in an immersive forensic science experience. Students will take on the role of forensic investigators, applying scientific techniques to solve a case scenario linked to COVID-19 vaccination. This program is designed to foster critical thinking, scientific inquiry, and teamwork.
Through these initiatives, the KIOSC Global Design Challenge continues to empower young people to become innovative thinkers and global citizens, equipped to address complex challenges facing the world today.
