Introduction
Learning with LEGO provides opportunities for students to engage in all aspects of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics).
LEGO robotics is a great way to get students engaged in STEM learning. It allows them to be creative and hands-on while learning important concepts in science, technology, engineering, and math. Come to KIOSC for a day to learn how to use the robots and programming.
FIRST LEGO LEAGUE is an annual competition for schools to compete. It requires a team of 2-10 students. This can be designed as a class activity, and only send 10 active member to the Regional Comp hosted at KIOSC in November.
What KIOSC can do:
- Come to KIOSC for a full day learning all things LEGO
- Borrow out a challenge mat and LEGO Robots for Semester 2.
- Two KIOSC Partner schools will receive a partial sponsorship to enter the competition. This include the entrance fee and the challenge mat.
Program Overview
This program engages students at every level, providing hands-on experiences in creativity, collaboration, communication and critical thinking skills.
1. LEGO Motors and Movement

2. LEGO Build and Design
Students build attachments to the base robot. They then program the robot to perform different functions (push/pull, up/down)
3. LEGO Challenge Mat
